Well Baby Visit

The girls had their well baby visit today. They also got their Synagis shot, DTaP vaccine, and the PCV vaccine. A total of four shots, two in each thigh. They were not happy about that at all. Thanks to grandpa Arnett for coming along and helping mommy with the tears! Dr. Davis is very pleased with their progress. She said they are where she would expect them to be if they had been term babies. She can not believe they are both starting to walk. Olivia weighs 19.7 pounds (10%), her height is 28 1/2 inches (10%), and her head circumference is 46 inches (75%). Alana weighs 22.2 pounds (50%), her height is 29 inches (10%), and her head circumference is 46 1/2 inches (50%). Alana is now on whole milk. She will get one bottle in the morning and one bottle before bed. The rest of the day she will be using her sippy cup. Olivia will still get two bottles of formula a day. One in the morning and one before bed. She will have whole milk in a sippy cup with her other meals for the day. We will be using the recipes from "Baby and Toddler Food for Dummies". One of the nurses I work with told me about the book and I really love all of the food choices. It also helps plan a well balanced meal schedule. We also found out that Olivia has excema on her neck and abdomen. The doctor prescribed cortisone 2%. When she is two she will be able to use prescription ointment especially for excema. Both girls are walking more. Olivia can make it across the living room before falling. Alana is now taking 4 - 5 steps before falling. They both love to explore everything. They are so fun to watch. They are both getting more social and expressing their emotions more. I am so thankful to God that they are doing so well. I just wish they were not growing up so fast!
